Another Glorious Weekend in Stonewall

I love quilting retreats.
I love Emilie's Haus.
I love my friends.
I especially love quilting retreats at Emilie's Haus with friends.

So I have had a really lovely weekend. Good food, great weather.
Basted the quilt I'm giving Donna for her 50th birthday in March and started quilting it. I forgot the foot pedal to my Bernina, so I could only quilt when Pat was doing something else and I could borrow her pedal, but I still got a lot done.
I also added sashing to a collection of blocks that I won in a block exchange in New Braunfels in 2005, squared them up, and sewed them together. For this, I used Kay's Featherweight.

Life Lessons

Yesterday was the fourth anniversary of the day my Mother died. She was sweet and kind to the end. Her memory failed her, but never her manners.
She loved her family. Although she couldn't remember all of them in the last few months of her life, she still loved them all.
Woe be to anyone who crossed any member of her family. She could hold a grudge for years.
But she could also forgive any family member almost anything.
She was my best friend for many years.
I still miss her.

Baby Bundles

I've been busy with Baby Bundle quilts for the last few days. I made 30 blocks for one, two tops, and matched up several tops with backs.

"Baby Bundle"s are small quilts made by members of our guild (AAQG) and donated to local state and non-profit organizations supporting new mothers and their babies.

I have 20 to deliver to the WIC Moms program on Friday. These are used in the program which supports mothers who breastfeed their babies.

Great Quote

"Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add,
but when there is nothing left to take away."
Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Wow. This says a lot to me.

Front Flower Beds Finished

Jollie did a good job. The flowerbeds look finished now and very attractive. Can't wait to buy some new shrubs and groundcovers to plant in them.
No pansies.
Maybe Moses-in-a-boat?

A nice specimen rosemary to put in right next to the steps?
